Our intake animals, including some of which are homeless, handicapped, elderly, abandoned and abused, often come from local municipal shelters or are owner surrenders. This can be a time consuming and costly process. The land and facility was acquired through a few large donations and the shelter was immediately able to start placing animals into loving adoptive homes. The land was originally overseen by Father John, a retired member of the clergy, who took exceedingly good care of his livestock. The shelter was named after him to honor his dedication to the welfare of animals.

He loves to go right up to new people and ask for attention (though he's not a fan of being held, he still enjoys being pet and getting love). He also loves to play - he enjoys wand toys, mice - you name it, he'll chase it! This handsome boy loves to be the king of the castle and get all of your attention. He'd be a great solo cat, but he's open to making friends based on their personality.

Gorgeous Daisy Duke is 3 years old, and about 75 lbs, so she is full grown. Daisy loves going on long walks, especially when she gets to go through the woods! She'll snuggle right up to you on the couch! Ideally her family would be able to let her experience a little bit of everything. She is very smart and knows a few commands, like "sit" and "paw".
She knows a whole list of commands, and is very sweet and gentle. Her previous adopters both had mobility issues, so she does well on a leash, too! This sweet girl has been through so much with losing both of her parents, please give her the happy ending she needs, and deserves! Our sweet girl Zelda came to us through no fault of her own - the other cat in the home wouldn't accept her as a new addition, so now she's looking for her second chance!
